IT IS HAPPENING AT LAST!

Wednesday 18th November

After a great deal of anticipation and some delays work has finally begun on our new school hall. The construction company Hanem Group, is trying to work in well with the normal operations and activities at the school in order to minimise disruption and impact. We look forward to seeing the building move to completion in 2010 and are very keen to put this school and community resource to good use.

Dust Storm

What an extremely unusual day we had on Wednesday. Many students were kept home because of pre existing respiratory conditions and those that did attend were confined to classrooms as much as possible to minimise their exposure to the dust. It was a relief to see the sun this morning and everything back to normal again.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Audrey Van Unen, Nicholas Schulz and Lucy Hallett who have all successfully audition for inclusion in the Australian Youth Choir in recent weeks. Perhaps we will see them in a QANTAS ad one day.

Congratulations to Zach Baldwin for receiving a 2009 Deadly Kids Doing Well Award – awarded by Sydney Region for academic achievement.

Congratulations to Will Vandermaal for his selection in the Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Representative Creak Shield Team.

BAND News

Band Camp

Our band members combined with Oyster Bay and Woolooware Primary Schools for a two day band camp at The Tops Conference Centre, Stanwell Tops. Although the focus was on band and musical sessions, we also got the opportunity to enjoy activities such as the giant swing, survivor and archery in our spare time. After dinner there were more games before bed. Will won the award for the biggest appetite, and Robbie, the award for quickly learning the codes to all the rooms. The Camp concluded with a concert on Tuesday night at which the children demonstrated their amazing talent to family and friends. Everyone had a wonderful, fun-filled experience and the students are to be congratulated on their fabulous behaviour.
