Meeting Minutes
Tuesday 10th November, 2009
Meeting opened at 7.35 pm in the Staff Room.
ITEM
1. Attendees:

2. Minutes of last meeting:
Read by Carmel Vandermaal.

Business Arising:
- School banking: Average $100-$125/month. Good numbers of participation from KF/KR and will hopefully help to establish school banking in the next few years.
ACTION: Katie Osborne to report on progress. REPORT BY: next meeting.
- School Fence: Letter from Malcolm Kerr and Verity Firth. Fencing expenditure has been finalized for this financial year and will not be available until 2010/11 financial year. Fences are erected depending upon security and risk assessments. A risk assessment officer will be sent to the school to conduct an assessment. Jason will respond with our dissatisfaction.
Andrew added that a risk assessment had now been completed and that our school is a low priority for fencing.
ACTION: Justin Meehan to send letter in response. REPORT BY: next meeting.
- Working Bee/Gardens: Mr Tench completing plan – suggestion to go ahead without this input if necessary. Mulch and manure have been put in. Mrs Tench and Mrs Ristevski to take over running of the garden. $100 voucher from Bunnings to be spent on worm farm and compost bins.
Suggestion that 2010 fundraising be for the Outdoor Learning Area.
Also noted that Bunnings had invited Miranda North P & C to family xmas night on Thursday 10 December 5-8pm.
- Quickshade tent: tent to be shipped this week.
- Band Pennants: Samples and quotes provided. Quotes are between $2000-3000 for 50 pennants. Nicole Blight and Belinda Stevens to ask for further quotes. This amount of money may be better spent on new band equipment/instruments.
ACTION: Nicole and Belinda to get quotes. REPORT BY: next meeting.

4. Treasurer’s Report:
Report provided by Nicole Blight. Opening Balance $15760.57
Expenditure included Year 6 T-shirts, Cash box, portable aluminium seating, Federation membership.
Income totaled $7145.56 from athletics carnival, walkathon, trivia night, Fathers day stall, Kindy orientation and gift cards.
Balance is currently $20399.47

5. Canteen Report:
Report provided by Karen Crombie with statements for September and October received.
Opening balance for October: $2141.23 Nett profit: $663.29. Actual balance: $2618.37
Donation to the library of $2000 and purchase of slushy machine, approx. $2690
School logo to be put in front of the library books purchased with the donated funds.

6. Uniform Shop:
Report provided by Chris Cacciola. Banked $352 in September and $529 in October due to Orientation. New school swimwear is available to try on and purchase: $22 for boys and $35 for girls.
Need to order 2 of each size so order can be made and extras to be kept in Uniform Shop.
Need to order 3 boxes of school bags.

7. Fundraising:
Great fundraising night at McDonalds Kirrawee with $391.44 donated to the school. Thank you to Simon Helwani for being our Celebrity Server.
Glow bracelets have been purchased for Carols.
Thank You Certificates to be organized for businesses who donated to the Trivia Night.
Andrew to organize with Office Staff.
8. Principal’s Report:

- Kurrunulla Dance Festival; Interrelate Family Programs; Regional Athletics; Zone Public speaking; Australia My Country awards; Senior Choir at Opera House.
- District Public Speaking final won by Zuhairah Dindar.
- $492 raised from Bandanna day
- NSWPPA Conference; Kinder Orientation
- Work to commence on the Hall !!!
- Lots happening in December: reports home 4 Dec, Presentation Night 7 Dec at 7pm, Carols 11 Dec, Year 6 farewell 14 Dec, Xmas Parade 15 Dec, students finish 16 Dec.
9. Agenda Items:
- Rusty play equipment (Belinda Stevens): Andrew Hewitt has already asked A-Play equipment to look into this and possibly replace parts.
10. General Business:
· Carols Night: Sausage sizzle to start at 6.30pm and then Carols at 7.30pm so it is later and darker for finish. Drinks to be provided by Canteen to utilize the stock. Karen Crombie to check on Doritos as possible sale item. P & C to give 1 glow stick to each MNPS student. Nicole to order more glow sticks. Graeme has offered help from church members with sale of drinks etc… so parents can attend Carols.
· P & C Xmas raffle: Chris and Nicole to organize prizes, tickets etc… 1st prize possible MP3 player. $200 to be spent on raffle prizes. Moved: Justin Meehan Seconded: Shaen Ryan.
· 2010 Fair: Date set for September 18 2010.
