Facilities

The canteen operates on Mondays and Thursdays of each week. It is run by a committee of the P&C Association and staffed by voluntary workers. Any profit is directed through the P&C to provide resources for the school.

Lunch Orders: All lunch orders are to be written on a paper bag with the child's name and class with the money placed in the bag. These orders are placed in a classes basket and the teacher sends the basket to the canteen. Orders are carried back to the classes at lunchtime for distribution.

The school is well equipped in the area of information technology. We have a bank of 20 apple imac computers that are fully networked in our air conditioned Computer Lab and Multi-media Centre.
Our school Library also houses a small network of 6 PCs that are also internet ready for research purposes. Each of the classrooms currently has up to 3 computers for students to access as part of their normal teaching and learning activities.
Technology is updated through the Department of Education and Training’s Technology for Learning program.

Miranda North has a very well stocked library, The provision of a budget annually enables our Teacher/Librarian to maintain excellent current material for the use of students and staff.

Library lessons are held at least one day each week for each class.

Children are asked to bring a draw string bag in which to carry borrowed library books home.

Miranda North Public School is located on a spacious, tree-studded, 3 hectare site that is comprised of ample grassed areas with provision for Netball, Soccer, Football and Cricket to be played and newly sealed asphalt playground areas for ball games and assemblies. Two separate areas of seating allow students to eat their meals both in the shade and protected from wet weather as well.
There is also a well-maintained and safe arrangement of fixed playground equipment available for student use.

The 10 classrooms at Miranda North Public School are all carpeted, air conditioned, fully networked with high speed internet access and most open onto covered outdoor areas. The Kindergarten rooms are both double-sized.

There is a fully accredited and privately operated Before and After School Care facility operating on the school premises. They also provide Vacation Care.
